Sound-Sculptures

Motivated by a TV-commercial I tried to create acrylic paint sculptures.
Paint is put on an elastic membrane, which is set into motion by sound frequencies.
This is setting the paint into motion, forming wonderful and mystic “sound sculptures”.

Off to the desk, pulled a balloon over a speaker. Hooked to my synthesizer, generating sine-wave sounds at about 110hz to set the balloon membrane into motion. Acrylic paint on top. Background was an old black piece of fabric, and the scenes was illuminated by 2 flashlights. Voila!
